Introduction: Bill C-253 was a private member's bill introduced by Mr. Don Boudria (M.P.) for a first reading in  Canada's House of Commons on 27 May, 1994.
 
 


An Act to amend the Criminal Code (abortion)

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
1. The Criminal Code is amended by adding the following after section 288:

289. Every person who directly or indirectly requires a physician, nurse, staff member or employee of a hospital or other health care facility to perform or participate directly or indirectly in an abortion procedure is guilty of an indictable offence and is liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years.
