The Conscience Laws and Healthcare Conference
was held on Saturday 25th July 2009. The event
was organised by the group- Doctors in
Conscience in order to examine the implications
The Victorian Abortion Law Reform Act 2008 will
have on the practice of healthcare for
								conscience objectors.
The conference also considered the threat
that anti-conscience laws pose to the freedom of
thought, conscience and religion from a
								cultural, political and legal perspective.
In this video, Nigel Preston speaks on the
topic: The Victorian Abortion Law and
Conscientious Healthworkers: Is there a way out
or do we need a test case?

Phillips Fox's health, commercial and consulting
group in Melbourne. He leads a team of lawyers
covering the health and aged care sectors and
provided a recent legal opinion to CHA regarding
the implications of the Victorian abortion
								legislation.
